Press for the movie Trainwreck is in full gear, and now the production behind the Judd Apatow film has released new images of some surprising co-stars.
Before we get into the photos, here’s an official synopsis of Trainwreck , which stars comedian Amy Schumer and Saturday Night Live alum Bill Hader.
“Since she was a little girl, it’s been drilled into Amy’s (Schumer) head by her rascal of a dad (Colin Quinn) that monogamy isn’t realistic. Now a magazine writer, Amy lives by that credo—enjoying what she feels is an uninhibited life free from stifling, boring romantic commitment—but in actuality, she’s kind of in a rut. When she finds herself starting to fall for the subject of the new article she’s writing, a charming and successful sports doctor named Aaron Conners (Bill Hader), Amy starts to wonder if other grown-ups, including this guy who really seems to like her, might be on to something.”
The film co-stars Brie Larson, John Cena, Tilda Swinton, LeBron James, and more.
Here’s a look at some of the stills released from Trainwreck .
The film’s main star, Amy Schumer, has been racking up press with some of her recent comments about weight. Schumer, who’s a size 6, is not shying away from critics who fat shame actresses in Hollywood. Despite being average size, the actress says she does not want to look “malnourished.” In an interview with People magazine , Schumer said, “It’s very therapeutic for me to be like, ‘Yes, I’m not going to look like a malnourished bird,’ and I like speaking to that, as well as speaking to my work and what I’m doing.”
As for the film Trainwreck , Schumer took from her own life experiences when she was writing the script. “This is how I am and how a lot of girls are where the guy ends up being a little more sensitive and more invested. So the scene where I get high and then John [Cena’s] character looks through my phone, and then instead of comforting him I ask if I can leave – that did happen in my real life.”
Her next comment was considered controversial to some outlets. “I’m probably, like, 160 pounds right now and I can catch a d**k whenever I want. Like, that’s the truth. It’s not a problem.” Confidence from an actress who isn’t waif thin is apparently something to gasp at these days.
She’s also responded to critics on Twitter as well.
“ @amyschumer : I am a size 6 and have no plans of changing. This is it. http://t.co/gDEvHYFe0p Somewhere #Garth is saying “we’re not worthy”!
