The 2016 presidential polls are in full force right now with Donald Trump’s support climbing, Hillary Clinton’s support dropping, Bernie Sanders being seen as a winner, and Jeb Bush surging. All of that could change within the next week and then change again the week after. Voters want to know something a bit more, and now they can look at the tentative schedule for the 2016 primary elections and caucuses.

While the primary schedule and calendar is not 100 percent set in stone as of yet, the dates are likely to be close to what is being reported. US Presidential Election News states that all dates are still subject to change prior to 2016.

The earliest dates will come in February, but for now, there are only four. All of the following dates are as of late June and early July.

Monday, Feb. 1, 2016 – Iowa caucus

Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2016 – New Hampshire (first primary)

Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 – South Carolina

Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016 – Nevada caucus

Moving onto March, there are actually a lot of states getting into things. It is believed that North Carolina could end up at the end of February as well, but for now, it is on the March schedule.

The New York Times has Super Tuesday as being on March 1, 2016, and there are a lot of states getting in on things here. Again, this could change a little as time goes on, but it’s expected to be the busiest day on the primary and caucus calendar for the 2016 presidential election.

  • Alabama
  • Arkansas
  • Colorado – caucuses
  • Georgia
  • Massachusetts
  • Minnesota – caucuses
  • North Carolina
  • Oklahoma
  • Tennessee
  • Texas
  • Vermont
  • Virginia

The rest of March will bring plenty of other action as well.

Saturday, Mar. 5, 2016 – Louisiana and Nebraska (Democratic caucus)

Tuesday, Mar. 8, 2016 – Hawaii caucus (GOP), Mississippi, and Michigan

Sunday, Mar. 13, 2016 – Puerto Rico (GOP)

Tuesday, Mar. 15, 2016 – Ohio, Florida, Illinois, and Missouri

Tuesday, Mar. 22, 2016 – Arizona and Utah

Saturday, Mar. 26, 2016 – Hawaii caucus (Democrat)

Moving onto April, it’s another busy month, but there aren’t nearly as many days on the primary and caucus schedule as other months. Only two days will see some action at this time, but again, that could change and states could move around.

Tuesday, Apr. 5, 2016 – Wisconsin

Tuesday, Apr. 26, 2016 – Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island

May is not the busiest month either as only three Tuesdays are set to see anything happen. With that, there are only five states indicated to hold action in May, 2016, as well.

Tuesday, May 3, 2016 – Indiana

Tuesday, May 10, 2016 – Nebraska (GOP primary) and West Virginia

Tuesday, May 27, 2016 – Kentucky and Oregon

Moving into June, things get busy again with some of the bigger states taking part.

Sunday, June 5, 2016 – Puerto Rico (Democrat)

Tuesday, June 7, 2016 – California, Montana, New Jersey, New Mexico, and South Dakota

Tuesday, June 14, 2016 – Washington, D.C.

A number of states may be listed with tentative dates, but they are far from confirmed, and others also have no firm or proposed dates too.

  • New York
  • North Dakota
  • Utah
  • Colorado
  • Idaho
  • Kansas
  • Maine
  • Washington
  • Wyoming

The 2016 presidential election has a lot of action going on with the polls, but there is a lot of work to be done by Donald Trump, Hillary Clinton, Jeb Bush, Scott Walker, Marco Rubio, and all of the others hoping to become the next President of the United States.
