Marvel fans have received several unexpected surprises this week, as new concept art purported to be from Captain America: Civil War has leaked online, amid news that Hobbit star Martin Freeman will be joining the cast.

The new concept art comes via blogger Umberto Gonzalez, formerly of Latino-Review , according to Moviepilot , who posted two images to his Instagram account. The first purports to show Iron Man’s new armor for Civil War , while the second shows Tony Stark and Captain America going head-to-head in a recreation of one of the most iconic images from the Civil War comic storyline.

Iron Man’s Civil War armor appears to be heavily influenced by the suit depicted during Marvel’s “Heroic Age” period, according to Screencrush , which took place after the Civil War storyline. Also called the “Bleeding Edge” armor, it was built from nanobots and housed within Tony Stark’s own body. The second image released by Gonzalez depicts Captain America and Iron Man facing off, rushing toward each other and sporting new costumes amid an impending battle.

Marvel fans were also surprised to learn on Tuesday that Hobbit and Sherlock star Martin Freeman would be joining the cast of Captain America: Civil War . As Marvel noted on their website , Freeman will be making his debut in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in an as-yet-undisclosed role.

“From his roles as Bilbo Baggins and Doctor Watson to Tim in The Office , Martin’s range from the dramatic to the comedic has consistently impressed us,” said Captain America: Civil War Producer Kevin Feige. “We couldn’t be more honored or excited to have such a talented actor join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.”

It was widely rumored that Marvel would seek to portray the Civil War storyline onscreen ahead of the studio’s official announcement of the project last year, as the Inquisitr has previously reported. Set to hit theaters on May 6, 2016, the film began shooting this week in Atlanta, under the direction of the Russo Bros., who previously helmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier for the studio.

Though it remains to be seen what role Freeman will take in the production, fans are already expressing excitement for the showdown between Iron Man and Captain America set to take place in Civil War .
