Eminem: 50 Cent Says His ‘Career Wouldn’t Even Exist’ Except For Marshall Mathers

Eminem has been given high praise by 50 Cent, who says his “career wouldn’t even exist” except for the rapper’s influence.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr , Eminem is trying to prevent Justin Bieber from letting his life spiral out of control . He’s also been helping out with charities by pledging to match donations .

We’re living in an odd world where Marshall Mathers is suddenly Mr. goody two shoes and the formerly squeaky clean Justin Bieber is the bad boy on the block. And I’ve got to say, it’s still a little surprising to hear 50 Center praise Eminem so highly:

“My career wouldn’t even exist, I wouldn’t even be talking to you if it wasn’t for Em. It’s amazing that later in your life you could find someone that means so much to the comfort in your actual life. My grandparents were that for me before Em.”

(So I guess we get we get to blame Usher for Justin Bieber, then…)

But 50 Cent’s praise is also based on facts. 50 Cent’s debut album, Get Rich Or Die Tryin’ , had Eminem as one of the producers. And because of this relationship, he knows how Eminem tends to work.

For example, 50 Cent claims Eminem does not have a lot of interest in other areas of music and entertainment. You can see this is true because Eminem has been turning down movie actor roles, and some believe his acting career is over . The good news is that this allows Eminem to “step back” and watch other artists while he figures out his next play. He’s reportedly also very careful in choosing what he produces, saying no to more projects than he says yes.

In the end, 50 Cent says Eminem’s rap music has been so influential in the Hip Hop world that everyone has benefited:

“When they look at Em and they see themselves, it’s because they feel him. You see these other guys come out of nowhere almost, have huge hits. I like Eminem. I think Hip Hop grew faster in different areas because of the success of his projects and there’s no other rappers doing other than whatever’s comfortable to them [despite Em’s influence]. They’ll name Top 5 MCs and not have his name on it when none of them have music that performed that well.”

And Eminem’s Nielsen Soundscan rating certainly proves him performing well. Back in November, it was reported that Marshal Mathers LP 2 had hit number one on the Billboard charts by pushing 120,000 copies in its third week of sales.

Do you agree with 50 Cent that Eminem has improved the Hip Hop world to such a great extent?
