If you’re prone to referring to Drake as “lonely and emotional,” then he’d really like you to stop it. The rapper is a little tired of being described as a crybaby with nobody to hug.
A lot of the musician’s fans and detractors firmly believe that he’s one of the most sensitive rappers currently in the game. Drake, meanwhile, is definitely a little sick of being categorized as such. During a recent interview with Canada’s Q Radio , he shared his frustrations with the entire world.
“I’m so sick of people saying that I’m lonely and emotional, and associating me with this longing for a woman. Yeah, I hate that, man. It bothers me so much. I do make music that makes you feel something,” Drake explained during the chat.
He continued, “I’m actually not that guy in real life. I’m very happy. I’m not content by any means, I mean, I want to keep working, but I’m a happy person. I’m very excited. My life is constantly exciting. It’s not some sad, depressing story.”
Instead of becoming something he’s not, Drake said he made a pact long ago to stay true to himself . In short: The rapper isn’t going to alter his behavior just to appear more macho and less emotional.
“What really bothers me the most is the fact that sometimes I don’t feel like I get enough credit or I don’t make a big enough impact because I’m not a loose cannon in situations like this where we’re doing a one-on-one interview,” Drake explained.
The rapper added, “People just want me to go off more and lose my composure, and then that way I guess I would make more headlines or be more iconic, but that’s not me. I’m a naturally poised individual.”
The Inquisitr previously reported that Kendrick Lamar had a few choice words for Drake during the recent BET Cypher. As part of his performance, the rapper seemed to take aim at his Canadian-born adversary.
“Yeah… and nothing’s been the same since they dropped ‘Control’/ And tucked a sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes/ Ha-ha jokes on you, high-five… I’m bulletproof/ Your s***’s a never penetrate, pin the tail on the donkey boy you been a fake,” he freestyled.
Do you think fans and detractors have unfairly labeled Drake as “lonely and emotional”?
