The Tampa Bay Buccaneers draft is a bit confusing. They got one of the highly coveted DT prospects in the first round and then draft another DT in the second. If the goal is to completely rebuild the D line taking two tackles is a solid strategy. Really though this defense was the worst against the run, and something had to be done to fix that. Brian Price might have fallen to them with the 35th overall pick, and they grabbed him up. I would have liked to see them address their needs at DE before the seventh round, but it seems they made some ok moves.

I had the urgent needs listed as DT, DE, and WR . They took two DT, and two WR’s, but left the DE position until the 7th round. On their list of secondary needs I had them needing a CB, OL, and safety. In the third round, they took CB Myron Lewis, and in the fourth took another WR. They followed that up by taking two LB’s in the seventh round. Instead of concentrating on one position it seems they could have spread it out a little bit more. We shall see if this tactic will work out.

•Need- B+ The needed some run stuffers and they got four that may turn into just that •Talent- A McCoy and Price were top ten DT prospects, and WR Arrelious Benn was a top ten wide out prospect • Round One – A McCoy may be the finest DT in this draft • Round Two – A I was very high on Brian Price and this may have been an excellent value here •Round Two- A They traded up to get Benn, because they needed a big time WR • Round Three – A Myron Lewis was a top five CB prospect, and another great value •Average- A-
