Sorority Nightmare is an exciting new movie that is set to debut on Lifetime this Saturday to satisfy your viewing pleasure. Directed by Devon Downs and Kenny Gage and written by Brian McAuley, Sorority Nightmare , which is also known as Dark Pledge and Twisted Sisters , is about a young woman who joins a sorority after her sister’s death. However, the sisters that she gains in the sorority prove to be deadly. Sorority Nightmare stars Sierra McCormick as Sarah and Cassidy Gifford as Daisy.

Sorority Nightmare Movie Synopsis

As Sarah heads off to college at the prestigious Silas Deane University, she is shocked to find out that her mother was a former sorority girl. Her mother wants only one thing: for Sarah to follow in her footsteps and visit the Psi Kappa Omega sorority house to take a look around.

To satisfy her curiosity, Sarah does just that and immediately becomes intrigued by sorority life. It is there that she meets Daisy, Psi Kappa’s president who takes an instant liking to Sarah, or so it seems. What Sarah doesn’t know but will soon find out is that Psi Kappa is unlike any other sorority. Their motto is, “Psi Kap for life, Psi Kap til death.”

With that in mind, Sarah seems to absorb herself into sorority life and takes on the attitude of her sisters, who stop at nothing to get what they want. However, when the fun ends and Sarah learns some disturbing secrets about the sorority’s practices, she realizes that these sisters adhere to a different code and have a loyalty so strong that it is sealed in blood. Will Sarah be able to expose Daisy even if it means threatening Psi Kappa’s entire legacy?

According to College Bound , real-life college sororities are not at all like they are portrayed in TV movies and films.

“‘Recruitment Myth #1: Everybody is ‘Legally Blonde’-gorgeous. In actuality, girls range in attractiveness, shape, and size. It’s a misconception that recruitment is a highly competitive atmosphere where you’re chosen based on superficial aspects, like where your daddy works or what kind of clothes you wear,’ Koepsell says. ‘In reality, it’s based on a woman’s character, personality, and skills.’

However, occasionally a movie about fraternities or sororities has a ring of truth. For example, Lifetime’s Sorority Nightmare makes one think about a true story scandal in 2013, involving members of the University of Alabama’s Chi Omega, a sorority that was accused of bribing voters with beer, free drinks, and limousine rides. The scandal was uncovered after the Alabama Media Group received an email that the sorority was bribing members, according to Complex .

Some of the most brutal acts committed by America’s college sororities are detailed in the book Pledged: The Secret Life of Sororities by Alexandra Robbins.
