Although most people think Bryan Cranston would make an excellent Lex Luthor in Man of Steel 2 , there’s a strong possibility that early rumors got the story all wrong.
The folks at Cosmic Book News reported not too long ago that the Breaking Bad star had been tapped to portray the iconic villain in the next installment of Warner Bros. and Zack Snyder’s Superman saga. Unfortunately, these reports are mostly likely false.
It’s always best to take internet rumors with a grain of salt, especially when nothing has been confirmed from the parties involved. In other words, those who were hoping that Bryan Cranston would play Lex Luthor in Man of Steel 2 might be in for a wave of cinematic disappointment.
According to MSN, there isn’t a “shred of truth” to these reports . While the former Malcolm in the Middle star might be perfect for the part, apparently he hasn’t been cast in the role as of this writing. Feel free to shake your angry fist at the internet whenever you’re ready.
A few days after the Lex Luthor story was picked up by several mainstream outlets — The Inquisitr included — the folks at Latino Review and Comic Book News started poking virtual holes in the story. Some individuals claimed that Cosmic Book News is notorious for printing stories and starting rumors that aren’t exactly grounded in truth.
“A certain fansite routinely posts…well, complete horses*** for hits. Sometimes — as in this case — they expand on an existing rumor, and others it’s incredibly outlandish garbage, plucked from thin air — Matt Damon being in talks for Aquaman etc,” Mark Cassidy at Comic Book News explained in a recent post.
Sometimes being a movie fan can be frustrating. Getting excited about a project is supposed to be fun, but it can often lead to genuine frustration when people knowingly post false information. As always, it’s best to treat unconfirmed or unofficial rumors with extreme skepticism.
