Dunkin’ Donuts Rant: Company Praises Employee For Enduring Hateful Speech [Video]

Dunkin’ Donuts is praising one of its employees for enduring a hateful rant that was posted on the internet earlier this week.

The employee, identified as 18-year-old Abid Adar somehow managed to stay calm as a woman named Taylor Chapman hurled insults and threats in his direction. The woman was apparently upset about a receipt and told the DD employee that she “couldn’t wait to post this on Facebook.”

Well, the plan backfired. Instead of shaming Dunkin’ Donuts for bad service the internet was shocked at how Chapman treated the employee.

Dunkin’ Donuts saw the viral rant on the internet and praised the employee for how he handled the situation.

The restaurant wrote on Twitter: “We’re proud of how r crew member handled this situation. The franchise owner of the restaurant plans 2 recognize the crew member.”

The restaurant hasn’t said how it will recognize Adar but the employee is bound to see some cash in the near future. An Indiegogo campaign was recently started to raise $10,000 for Adar. So far, the campaign has raised $6,500.

The campaign writes : Nasty, bitter attacks from people like the woman in this video, can help jade people to the world around us and make us bitter. I don’t mean to sound completely CareBears over here, but we can counterract this poison by putting forth good deeds, righting some wrongs, and performing acts of random kindness.

In other news, Taco Bell and Wendy’s are reportedly jealous of Dunkin’ Donuts for having such great employees.
