Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger recently teamed up for the prison flick Escape Plan . However, this isn’t the first team-up featuring the Hollywood heavyweights to come barreling down the cinematic pipeline.

During their recent chat with Access Hollywood , Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger discussed some of the projects they decided to skip.

“The interesting thing really, is that for decades, they’ve tried to put us together in a movie and the scripts were horrible. It was like dreadful. We could not have accepted any of that,” the Terminator star explained during the interview.

He continued, “One movie wanted us to be undercover agents in drag, and another movie wanted us to change from human beings to animals. So he was the dog and I was the cat and we were fighting each other. It was some comedy. It was all this ludicrous stuff.”

What convinced Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger to sign on for director Mikael Hafstrom’s Escape Plan ? According to the former California governor, the pair have a “major fight scene” in the flick. Apparently a physical confrontation is all you need to get the guys to work together.

However, this isn’t the first time the pair have teamed up for an action flick. Schwarzenegger and Stallone appeared together in The Expendables and The Expendables 2 . The boys will reunite one more time for The Expendables 3 .

Here’s what Escape Plan is all about:

“One of the world’s foremost authorities on structural security agrees to take on one last job: breaking out of an ultra-secret, high-tech facility called “The Tomb.” Deceived and wrongly imprisoned, Ray Breslin (Sylvester Stallone) must recruit fellow inmate Emil Rottmayer (Arnold Schwarzenegger) to help devise a daring, nearly impossible plan to escape from the most protected and fortified prison ever built.”

Escape Plan opens in theaters this Friday (October 18). Are you excited to see Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger together again on the big screen?
