The Veterans Memorial D.C. protest is warning politicians like Sarah Palin and Ted Crus to not try and hijack the Million Vet March.

As previously reported by The Inquisitr , the Million Vet March ended up moving the “barrycades” to the White House .

The original intention of the Million Vet March was to protest the closing of the Veterans Memorial in Washington D.C. due to the government shutdown. Barricades were put up by the Federal government and many seniors were prevented from visiting even if they were in the last days of their lives.

They got nicknamed “barrycades” because President Obama has become known for desiring to put political pressure on Republicans with the government shutdown . Park rangers were ordered to “make life difficult for people” according to some reports.

Some of the crowd held banners demanding we “Impeach Obama” and one speaker urged President Obama to “put down the Quran” in reference to how he reads multiple religious texts on a regular basis. Still others waved yellow “Don’t Tread On Me” and confederate flags .

Sarah Palin showed up at the Million Vet March and said this in a speech:

“We are here to honor our vets… You look around though and you see these barricades and you have to ask yourself is this any way that a commander in chief would show his respect, his gratitude to our military. This is a matter of shutdown priorities.”

Senator Ted Cruz had similar sentiments to say during the Veterans Memorial D.C. protest :

“Let me ask a simple question: Why is the federal government spending money to erect barricades to keep veterans out of this memorial?”

But the Veterans Memorial D.C. protest simply wanted them re-opened, not to turn the Million Vet March into a media circus camped out in front of the White House:

“The political agenda put forth by a local organizer in Washington DC was not in alignment with our message. We feel disheartened that some would seek to hijack the narrative for political gain. The core principle is about all Americans honoring Veterans in a peaceful and apolitical manner. Feel free to check out the 60+ rallies of the Million Vet March across the nation at our Facebook page .”
