The Vampire Diaries Season 8 is the end, and that means fans have numerous things that they want to see. One of those is the return of old faces, especially those from the very beginning.
Series creator Julie Plec has already said that Season 8 will be a throwback to the first season. While fans want to see Nina Dobrev, there are other faces that could show up in the series finale. Two of those are Tyler and Jeremy.

The last time Jeremy was seen, he was embarking on a life of hunting. He did make a cameo in The Vampire Diaries Season 6 when Elena was put in her Sleeping Beauty coma, but he went back off again. Will he come back to say goodbye? Maybe Bonnie will die and he will come back to say his farewells to her while seeing his sister again. There is also the possibility he will be called back because of his hunting.
Tyler was last seen in Season 6, trying to deal with being a human again and not release his werewolf gene. It was a lot easier said than done, though. He ended up reactivating his curse when he killed Liv, as she was dying anyway. It was a way to save himself, and she wanted him to do that. He stepped away from Mystic Falls after that and was seen in Season 7 both in the present day and three-year flash forward, but only really in passing, and had no intention of staying in Mystic Falls. He could return to help fight the evil to save Damon and Enzo or just to see Caroline finally get married and get her happy ending with Stefan.
Plec does want to see some of Vampire Diaries characters move to New Orleans and appear in The Originals . Could that happen with either Jeremy or Tyler so fans get to see what the two have been up to?

Could it be possible that Plec is also thinking of a new spinoff idea for the show? Jeremy’s hunting could potentially become a series in itself, especially if a couple of the characters move along with him. Alaric could find himself back in the game while he tries to protect his twins. Tyler could also help out when he’s not a werewolf.
So far, only one character is confirmed to return to Mystic Falls. TVLine reports that Tristin Mays will reprise her role as Sarah Salvatore. Fans will remember that she appeared in The Vampire Diaries Season 6 as a college student. Damon found out that his great-nephew Zach had a daughter, who Stefan has been protecting over the years.

Enzo last advised her to get out of town for her own safety, but she kept all her memories of vampires and her family heritage. Is it possible that she will come back to help save Damon and Enzo? She likely won’t be in too many episodes, as Mays has signed on for the MacGyver reboot.
So far, very little is known about The Vampire Diaries Season 8. There are plenty of things that fans want to see , as the Inquisitr has already reported, but Plec says that not all ships will work out the way fans want. She does hope that the ending she has in mind will be suitable for the majority and satisfy those wishes.
Does that mean some characters will come back to the show? Is it possible that Tyler and Jeremy will make reappearances in the Vampire Diaries series finale? What do you think about the idea?
