Gillian Anderson wants another X-Files movie, and so do David Duchovny and Chris Carter.
Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny were made famous when they showed off their on-screen chemistry on the now classic TV series, and since then they have made two movies. The last of the X-Files movies was called The X-Files: I Want to Believe , and it predated reality as Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are rumored to be dating, as previously reported by The Inquisitr .
The last film in the series had their characters Dana Scully and Fox Mulder in a relationship, and it is believed that the next film may still have them together, if not married.
Gillian Anderson, David Duchovny, and creator Chris Carter are all on board to make a third film to mark the 20th anniversary of the TV series, but in the end, it’s apparently up to Fox Studios.
Gillian Anderson, the X-Files star alongside David Duchovny, took part in a questions and answers session on Reddit to promote the next film, followed by an appearance at New York Comic-Con .
Gillian Anderson told X-Files fans at NYCC how the movie might happen, “If it takes fan encouragement to get Fox interested in that then I guess that’s what it would be.”
So what would it take for fans to get the word out that we want another X-Files film? One option would be to take to Change.org and sign the petition that Australian fan Megan McDonald has started. It doesn’t always work, but it’s worth a try.
Given that neither actor has been all that successful outside the franchise that made them famous, a third X-Files film could be just what they need to get back in the spotlight. Gillian Anderson did have an appearance recently in Johnny English Reborn , but Rowan Atkinson really stole the scene with his outrageous performance which could be considered a classy offshoot of Mr. Bean.
If you want a third X-Files film, this is the time to speak up and let Fox Studios know. Gillian Anderson wants more X-Files , and David Duchovny and series creator Chris Carter agree. It’s just up to Fox Studios at this point.
