Hank Azaria recently channeled a number of Simpsons characters to announce the Dodgers starting lineup.
In order to give the beginning of the Dodgers-Braves game on Sunday a unique twist, the talented actor paid a visit to the field to give fans a treat. Video of his performance is embedded below.
Hank Azaria is responsible for bringing a number of memorable characters to life on the long-running animated series. A number of them made an appearance at Dodger Stadium on Sunday afternoon .
Moe Szyslak, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon, and Chief Wiggum all helped read the starting lineup. Unfortunately, even these memorable characters couldn’t help the Dodges defeat the Braves. The Los Angeles team lost 8-1 .
Moe, Apu, and Chief Wiggum aren’t the only characters Hank Azaria voices on The Simpsons . According to The Simpsons Wikia , the talented actor has loaned his voice to around 250 characters over the course of the series.
Included in this exhaustive list are Cletus Spuckler, Carl Carlson, Snake Jailbird, the Comic Book Guy, and Duffman. He’s also helped flesh out one-off characters that pop up for one or two episodes.
Every once in a while, Hank Azaria takes a moment out of his busy Simpsons schedule to help out with other projects. He can be found next in Lovelace , the aptly-titled biopic about famous porn star Linda Lovelace. Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, and Juno Temple are among the many familiar faces that co-star with Azaria in the flick.
The actor will also reprise his role as Gargamel in director Raja Gosnell’s The Smurfs 2 . The live action-CGI hybrid also features Neil Patrick Harris, Sofia Vergara, Christina Ricci, and Anton Yelchin. The family-friendly flick opens in the US on July 31.
