The Kate Middleton topless photos seem to be on their very own tour of Europe despite the best efforts of the Royals to prevent their publication.
Having already been published in France (by Closer magazine), Ireland (by the Irish Daily Star ), and Italy (by Chi magazine), the controversial shots of the duchess sunbathing have now been published in Sweden while a sister magazine in Denmark is planning a 16-page supplement featuring the offending pics.
Swedish celebrity mag Se och Hoer (See and Hear) has published the photos, with the magazine’s editor-in-chief Carina Loefkvist declaring:
“This is nothing unusual, these are quite nice pictures if you compare them with other celebrity pictures that we publish all the time.”
Loefkvist described how the magazine bought the pictures last Friday “from photographers and photo agencies, the way we always do” and “before everything erupted”.
Meanwhile, Kim Henningsen, editor-in-chief of the Danish sister title Se og Hør , promised the Kate Middleton topless photos would show Denmark “what these photos are all about.” He added:
“Our readers love to keep up with the famous and royal life and demand revealing news. It is in Se og Hør ‘s DNA to entertain and satisfy our readers’ curiosity. Therefore, it is always relevant for us when a duchess and the future queen of England is topless.”
Both magazines belong to the Denmark-based Aller Media company. It is unknown whether legal action will be launched against the publications, though St James’ Palace released a statement saying that “all proportionate responses will be kept under review.”
