Herman Cain is the latest addition to Fox News, the network announced Friday.
The former presidential candidate will be contributing analysis and commentary on Fox News as well as Fox Business Network, the Huffington Post reports. Executive vice president of programming, Bill Shine, said Cain is a “valuable addition” to the network.
“Cain’s impressive resume makes him a valuable addition to the Fox News and Fox Business lineup,” Shine said. “As a political expert with business savvy, he brings an important voice to the nation’s debates.”
Cain added, “I’m excited about joining the FOX family as a contributor because it is an opportunity to be one more voice for intelligent thinking in America.”
Cain isn’t new to Fox News, popping up occasionally on Sean Hannity’s radio show and making appearances on several other shows on the network in the past couple of years. His hiring is the latest in Fox News’ attempts to rebrand itself.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr , former Massachusetts Senator Scott Brown also joined the network earlier this week as a contributor, making his first primetime appearance on Wednesday’s edition of Hannity. The network also renewed the contract of former George W. Bush advisor Karl Rove.
While Fox News has made some additions to its lineup, it has also cut ties with some of its contributors. The network recently decided not to renew former vice presidential candidate and Alaska governor Sarah Palin’s contract in what was called a mutual decision. Fox News also recently dropped pundit Dick Morris after he embarrassingly predicted that Mitt Romney would win the presidential election by a landslide.
