First Lady Melania Trump slammed Kathy Griffin’s controversial photo of herself clutching President Donald Trump’s gory, severed head, reports claim.

On Wednesday Melania Trump reacted to Kathy Griffin’s beheading photo of her husband, describing it as “very disturbing” and “simply wrong.” In a statement released by the first lady, she claimed that such action makes people wonder about the mental health of the person who did it — in this case, Kathy Griffin.

“As a mother, a wife, and a human being, that photo is very disturbing. When you consider some of the atrocities happening in the world today, a photo opportunity like this is simply wrong and makes you wonder about the mental health of the person who did it.”

TMZ revealed that Melania Trump’s 11-year-old son, Barron, was having a hard time coping with the controversial photo. Apparently, Barron was watching television when the grotesque beheaded photo of his father flashed up on the screen during a news coverage.

Reports revealed that Donald Trump’s youngest son was “panicked” and distressed after seeing the image and began calling for his mother, Melania. Sources revealed that Barron actually thought the beheaded image was his real dad, adding that he did not know who Kathy Griffin was or understand the context of the photo.

“He’s 11. He doesn’t know who Kathy Griffin is and the head she was holding resembled his dad.”

It can be recalled that Kathy Griffin made headlines recently as she posed with the beheaded Donald Trump during a photo shoot for artist and photographer Tyler Shields.

In a photo obtained by TMZ, the My Life on the D-List comedian held up the bloody, decapitated Donald Trump as she stared directly into the camera. The news outlet added that the 56-year-old television host even joked during the photo shoot, saying that she and the photographer would need to leave the country as they might get imprisoned because of the photos.

The beheaded Donald Trump photo quickly went viral, drawing strong condemnation of Kathy Griffin’s action. The “insensitive” move from the actress ignited calls for a boycott, particularly her cross-country comedy tour.

In fact, the bloody photo has caused a major backlash to Kathy Griffin that she even lost several projects and gigs including an endorsement deal with Squatty Potty and her annual New Year’s Eve special for CNN.

Anderson Cooper, Kathy Griffin’s co-host, also condemned her action, claiming that he find the photo “inappropriate.”

“For the record, I am appalled by the photo shoot Kathy Griffin took part in. It is clearly disgusting and completely inappropriate.”

Donald Trump already responded to the controversy, revealing that it had been hard on his children, especially his youngest, Barron.

Meanwhile, amid all the criticism against Kathy Griffin’s beheaded Donald Trump photo, game show winner Ken Jennings has quite an opposite opinion. The Jeopardy! champion reportedly mocked Barron Trump’s reaction over the decapitated photo of his father.

In his latest tweet, Ken Jennings poked fun of the young Trump after he allegedly thought that the fake severed head was actually his father.

“Barron Trump saw a very long necktie on a heap of expired deli meat in a dumpster. He thought it was his dad & his little heart is breaking.”

Many were quick to express their dismay about Ken Jennings comment, particularly Donald Trump Jr. The president’s oldest son slammed Jennings tweet, responding bluntly with: “It takes a real man to pick on an 11-year-old. Yet another low from the left, but they will rationalize this away with their usual excuses.”

Amid all the criticisms, Ken Jennings continued to sneer at his critics.

On the other hand, Kathy Griffin has released her public apology on her social media accounts, admitting that she had gone “too far” with his actions.

“I’m a comic. I cross the line. I move the line, then I cross it. I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people. It wasn’t funny. I get it. I’ve made a lot of mistakes in my career, I will continue.”
