Chris Bosh of the Miami Heat has been mentioned in NBA trade rumors for months. However, now that things have completely blown up for him in Miami, a trade appears more likely than ever for the six-foot-eleven power forward/center from Dallas, Texas.
The NBA Trade Rumors website is reporting a potential deal between the Heat and Kings that involves Chris Bosh. In this rumored scenario, the Miami Heat would send Bosh and point guard Goran Dragic to Sacramento. The Heat would receive four players and two draft picks as compensation: small forward Rudy Gay, point guard Darren Collison, center Kosta Koufos, forward/center Skal Labissiere and a pair of second-round draft picks.
The saga of Chris Bosh and the Miami Heat has been one of the NBA’s biggest ongoing feuds over the last two years. The problems all started when Bosh began feeling poorly while on vacation during the 2015 NBA All-Star weekend. Doctors diagnosed Bosh with blood clots, and he missed the final 38 games of the 2014-15 regular season as a result.
Bosh took blood thinning medication and made a comeback the following season, but the blood clots returned. The Heat decided to shelve Bosh for the last 43 games of the regular season and playoffs. Since that time, there has been a bitter battle between the franchise and their star frontcourt player. Bosh wants to play, but Miami has not deemed him medically able to return to the basketball court. The Heat are concerned about Bosh’s long-term health, and also their own liability if they allow Bosh to continue his NBA career in Miami.

The situation worsened in recent days as Chris Bosh failed his team physical with the Heat. Bosh was not contacted by the team about his status, so Bosh heard about the results of his physical exam through the media, according to a report published by ESPN . Bosh was understandably upset, and shared his thoughts about the situation with the Heat via online video.
“I didn’t see my career in Miami ending like this. I didn’t get a call or a text or anything like that. I mean, it’s a business. We understand that. We always say those things. But if you say certain things to the person and you win championships and you have these moments, you don’t want to find things out through the media. It’s kind of tough. We say all these things, the commitment, brotherhood and all these things. And then, for whatever reason, you 0find out, or I find out like this. So, it hurts.”
Bosh went on to state that while it appears his career in Miami is over, he fully intends to play elsewhere. However, he can’t do that unless he is released or traded by the Heat. It seems reasonable that the Miami Heat would welcome a trade for Chris Bosh to rid themselves of the acrimony that continues to grow between the two sides. Could a deal with the Sacramento Kings be the answer?
Chris Bosh’s value on the trade market is very hard to pin down at the moment. He may return to play at an NBA All-Star level, or he may never play another game in the NBA — this is the dichotomy that any team interested in dealing for Bosh will have to evaluate. It is unknown whether the Kings are one of the teams who may be willing to take a chance on the big man out of Georgia Tech, but one thing is for sure: this rumored trade offer will not be the one that lands Bosh in California’s capital city.
This NBA trade rumor claims that Miami would send Bosh and Goran Dragic to the Kings, but that is far too much outgoing salary (per NBA trade and salary cap rules). Due to the salaries of the six players involved in this potential trade scenario, there is really no way to restructure this offer to make it legal under league rules. If the Kings want to roll the dice on Chris Bosh, they’ll have to come up with a completely different offer than the one being discussed online.
The latest NBA trade rumors are focusing on Chris Bosh, and with good reason. It appears doubtful that Bosh will ever play for the Miami Heat again, so a contract buyout or trade seems likely. However, the specific trade scenario that is currently making the internet rounds involving the Sacramento Kings is not a legitimate option…so for now, the posturing between the Miami Heat and their once-prized All-Star performer continues.
