The Samsung Galaxy smartwatch is still a closely guarded secret, but that secret will likely be unveiled during the company’s Unpacked 2013 Episode 2 event on September 4.
The Samsung Galaxy Gear could debut alongside the company’s Galaxy Note 3 device at the IFA event in Germany.
Sources at SamMobile claim that the launch date has been confirmed . That same source says the watch will carry the model number SM-V700. The wearable tech is expected to be listed as an accessory to Samsung’s range of smartphones.
While very little is known about the Samsung Galaxy Gear, several rumors have pointed at a flexible display. The hardware manufacturer has been working on flexible display technologies for the last several years. The company is ultimately expected to add flexible display capabilities to its future smartphones.
An earlier render of the device (shown above) uses the company’s design patent to show a large, curved display with a cellular connected interface. The watch is also expected to include a resolution of 500×500 alongside 235MB of internal storage.
Leaks have a way of either hitting the head on the nail or falling completely off the mark. In any case, we won’t have to wait very long before the Galaxy Gear is finally revealed to the masses.
