‘Grand Theft Auto V’ PC Petition Going Strong At 70,000 Signatures

When Rockstar Games confirmed that Grand Theft Auto V is set to debut at some point around spring of next year the only two platforms confirmed at the time were the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, putting into question whether or not a PC version would be happening.

Although Rockstar hasn’t said that Grand Theft Auto V won’t be coming to the PC, they haven’t said that it would, either. Sparked by all of the uncertainty, one gamer took it upon himself to start up a petition to make PC gamers heard.

Since starting over a week ago, the petition has already managed to rake in just under 70,000 supporters, with more support pouring in every day.

“GTA games have been a large part of so many peoples lives and it’s a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform,” wrote Mike Julliard, the gamer behind the Grand theft Auto V PC petition.

Following the original announcement confirming Grand Theft Auto V ‘s spring 2013 release date, Rockstar had this to say about the prospects of a PC version: “For those asking about the PC platform, we’re currently focused on the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game and don’t have any details to share about a PC version at this time.”

With the (unfortunate) exception of Red Dead Redemption , Rockstar has been fairly good about getting their games on the PC platform, albeit often some time after its release on consoles.

There’s hope, but not much hope that a PC version of Grand Theft Auto V will ship day-and-date with the console versions.
