If you thought video games were a poor man’s pastime, then you obviously haven’t been spending too much time with those who make over $100,000 a year.

According to a recent survey conducted by the dating website SeekingArrangement.com, lots of rich dudes love playing video games. In fact, quite a few of them do it on a regular basis. In other words, that guy who just kicked your behind at Street Fighter IV might make a lot more money than you.

CEO Brandon Wade revealed that 13,728 users were recently asked about their extracurricular activities. The data revealed that 54 percent of these wealthy men love playing video games. On average, guys who make between $100,000 and $200,000 spend about 5.2 hours per week gaming on one platform or another.

Judging from the results of the SeekingArrangement.com survey, those who make between $300,000 and $400,000 spend a bit more time laying waste to virtual landscapes than other rich guys. These individuals spend around 10.3 per week on video games.

Which platforms do these gentlemen prefer? Approximately 41 percent seemed to enjoy playing games on Xbox 360 . This was followed by Playstation 3, PC, and Wii. The survey stopped short of revealing which titles these guys like to play.

“Many assume that time spent gaming is a detriment to success, which is completely false. Our survey indicates that gaming is an outlet, not distraction, in a wealthy man’s life,” Wade said in a statement .

He continued, “The difference between a successful man and an unsuccessful gamer is moderation. Whether it be regularly dating or regularly gaming, the key to enjoying any outlet is moderation.”

The next time you feel the need to call your opponent a poor slob, you might want to think long and hard about that decision. Chances are he could be living in a pad that puts your parent’s basement to shame.

Are you surprised that wealthy men love playing video games? Would you consider dating a rich guy who spends 10.3 hours a week on his Xbox 360?
