Wheel Of Fortune doesn’t see too many $1 million winners. In fact, the show has only handed out two $1 million prizes since the lucrative was added to the prize wheel in 2008. The first winner took home the prize shortly after the wedge was introduced. The second winner, Autumn Erhard, claimed the $1 million prize on Thursday night.
Erhard dominated the game and ended regular play with more than $30,000 in cash and prizes, including two trips to Arizona and Belize. Erhard also won a “bonus card” which helped her on the Wheel Of Fortune bonus rounds.
Erhard had to solve a two word, 12 letter puzzle and didn’t get much help from her guesses. But, somehow, Erhard managed to solve the “Tough Workout” puzzle and won $1 million.
Erhard said : “I am in complete and utter shock… I’m shaking. I came here today because I love the game, I wanted to have some fun and solve some puzzles – I feel like I’m in a dream!”
Now, just so everyone knows how impressive and lucky Erhard’s $1 million win really was, here’s a breakdown of what Erhard had to do to collect her prize.
First she had to spin the wheel and land on the $1 million wedge. She had to win that puzzle in order to compete the wedge and then had to win the game, without ever going bankrupt, in order to use that wedge in the prize wheel. She then had to spin the prize wheel and land on the $1 million prize again. After that, she had to go and solve a puzzle in order to win the prize.
Wheel Of Fortune really doesn’t make it easy for you to win $1 million.
