NFL expert picks for Week 4 action begin with the Cincinnati vs. Miami game on Thursday night (Sept. 29). The Cincinnati Bengals host the Miami Dolphins at 8:25 p.m. ET in an important AFC matchup. Both teams need to emerge from this one with a win. The Week 4 expert picks from ESPN state that this isn’t going to be a very close game. In fact, the report from ESPN has the analysts unanimously selecting the Bengals to move to 2-2 on the season. That would also drop the Dolphins to an unenviable 1-3 so far this season.
Within the Week 4 NFL expert picks are the predictions for the London game taking place early on Sunday, October 2. The Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Indianapolis Colts game is an important one for the AFC South standings and the analysts are siding with the Jaguars. That’s the opposite of what the fans are saying, as they have predicted that Andrew Luck will lead his Colts to victory. In the updated NFL standings , the Jaguars are one of the few teams left without a victory, so this might be considered a “reach.”
The Monday night game on October 3 has the Minnesota Vikings hosting the New York Giants. The Vikings are favored to win another tough game, pushing the team to 4-0 so far in the 2016 NFL season. There are only three other undefeated teams left, with the Denver Broncos, Baltimore Ravens, and New England Patriots each at 3-0 as well. All three teams are predicted to advance unscathed, meaning there could be four teams with 4-0 records as Week 5 of the season gets started.
One of the really interesting Week 4 NFL expert picks comes from the Seattle Seahawks vs. New York Jets game. The ESPN analysts have overwhelmingly sided with the Seahawks in this game, projecting the team to improve to 3-1 heading into the bye week. The experts over at CBS disagree, though, with their updated report siding with the Jets in overwhelming fashion. It’s very rare that two sites disagree so intensely on one game, but that is what is taking place between the Seahawks and Jets.
Breaking down the Seattle Seahawks vs. New York Jets game a bit further, Pro Bowl quarterback Russell Wilson is expected to play on Sunday. He was injured in Week 3 against the San Francisco 49ers, but is expected to tough it out in Week 4. Travel is always a question mark for a team coming from the West Coast, as this would equate to a 10 a.m. start time in Washington. The analysts at CBS feel that this is too much to overcome, even though the Jets had six turnovers in Week 3.
The Green Bay Packers and Philadelphia Eagles aren’t mentioned among the Week 4 picks, as the two teams have a bye week. It’s earlier than normal, but it will allow the Packers and Eagles to rest up and get on track for the rest of the 2016 NFL season. The four teams that will have a bye in Week 5 will be the Jacksonville Jaguars, Kansas City Chiefs, New Orleans Saints, and Seattle Seahawks.
