Miley Cyrus’ metaphorical wrecking ball new Rolling Stone interview is rammed full with highly quotable, entertaining nuggets, all of which ensured she hit the headlines.
For Justin Bieber, however, being likened to a 12-year-old, described as an (almost) “joke” à la Vanilla Ice, criticized for his oft-shirtlessness, and outed as the mentee of a topless, twerking, tongue-fixated girl just one year his elder — probably wasn’t such a fun read.
Belatedly aware her comments might offend or at the very least embarrass the “Baby” star, Miley subsequently took to Twitter to declare her support for the Canadian.
“Always have ALWAYS will root for @justinbieber he always has and ALWAYS will be the s[**]t. #onlylamestwistwords,” the 20-year-old wrote.
Miley’s public gesture seems to have been appreciated by her fellow former child star.
Bieber replied to the songstress with a tweet reassuring her that things were fine between them.
The 19-year-old also seemed to suggest he understands a great deal about how comments can become distorted from their original meaning when taken out of context and put in the public domain.
The heartthrob capped his tweet with a wry note.
@MileyCyrus all good. I know what it is. We keep it interesting

All in all, it’s a demonstrably mature response to Cyrus’ passive aggressive, tactless comments to Rolling Stone she couldn’t possibly have imagined wouldn’t be picked by a soundbite-centric news cycle.
In other Bieber news, the teen star is currently in Bangkok, Thailand with his Believe tour ahead of a Thursday concert. Further dates in Asia follow, before moving on to Latin America and Australasia for the final leg of the mammoth 15-month trek.

Seemingly brushing off the Cyrus drama and recent reports that he has kicked buddies Lil Za and Lil Twist out of his Calabasas, CA home, Justin spent quality time today with his grandparents — Diane and Bruce Lane — who are visiting from Canada.
Earlier, the singer posted Instagrams of the family trio while warning his fans to ignore fake social media accounts.
“Any account on twitter isn’t actually my Grandparents! They don’t have twitter and say they never will ),” Justin wrote.
