Earlier this week, Electronic Arts and DICE announced that Battlefield 4 is set to make its debut October 29 on PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360. In addition to that, EA confirmed that Battlefield 4 will also be coming to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well.
Considering that we still don’t have the exact release date for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One just yet, it’s unknown exactly when Battlefield 4 will hit next-gen consoles as well. However, pack shots recently released on the Battlefield website stated that the PlayStation 4 version may be releasing day-and-date with other platforms but the wording has since been changed.
In the press release, EA also confirmed that Battlefield 4 will, to the surprise of no one, have a pre-order incentive. As was the case with Battlefield 3 , pre-ordering the next entry in the franchise will secure you access to the game’s first expansion, dubbed “ China Rising ,” at no extra cost.
Here’s the official description of China Rising , as per the press release:
“In this sprawling expansion, players fight for dominance across the vast and majestic Chinese mainland in four massive multiplayer maps, using all-new vehicles and high-tech military equipment.”
If you plan on picking up Battlefield 4 digitally, EA and DICE will be offering some incentives for you as well. Along with access to the China Rising expansion, those who pre-order the Digital Deluxe Edition over on Origin will gain access to “bonus in-game items” and, perhaps more enticingly, access to the multiplayer beta.
We still haven’t had the chance to have a peek at Battlefield 4 ‘s multiplayer just yet, but that’s set to change next month. During EA’s E3 press conference, DICE will be showing off debut footage of the game’s multiplayer live on stage. Even more footage will be shown off at this link.
