The Blacklist is NBC’s best action drama series in a long time, and it remains to be seen whether or not the show can maintain its magnificent ratings through Season 4 and beyond after three thrilling seasons of excitement and suspense.
The Blacklist continues to lead amongst top crime and action drama shows on TV, and this has prompted the show’s creators to make a spin-off series of the same name, The Blacklist: Redemption . Whether or not The Blacklist: Redemption fits the bill is a question to be answered next year when it airs on the NBC Network .
However, before then, The Blacklist fans can brace themselves for the show’s fourth season, which according to the plot theories and teasers, could just take the game a level higher.
Warning: Spoilers ahead.

Now, if you watched The Blacklist Season 3 Episode 23, then you would agree with me that the show’s revelations in the last minutes created one of the most exciting cliffhangers in a TV series. Not only did the show creators reveal that Elizabeth Keen (Megan Boone) was still alive, but they also revealed a conspiracy theory about who could be her real father.

In addition, Kaplan, portrayed by Susan Blommaert, who was Raymond Reddington’s (James Spader) most trusted cleaner and ally, happened to betray her boss by colluding with Liz, Lizzy’s Husband Tom Keen (Ryan Eggold), and Dr. Nick Korpal (Piter Marek) to fake Elizabeth Keen’s death in The Blacklist Season 3 Episode 18.
So, the situation is like this. Red has been betrayed by the person he trusts most, Elizabeth Keen is alive, and apparently, she’s just met her real father Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen), who happens to be a Russian Oligarch with connections to every kind of big stakes crime you could think of. So what happens to her now? Does she accept to go with Alexander Kirk? I don’t think so. It’s “better the devil you know than the devil you don’t,” right?

Nonetheless, after faking her own death and keeping it from Red, it won’t be easy getting back to the usual partnership that they had since season one of The Blacklist .
So why is the war coming home? Apparently, even after Kaplan disclosed the little secret to Reddington, they were unable to rescue Liz from Kirk because they arrived late at the hideout in Ecuador. There was no sign of her or the baby while Tom is unlikely to feature following his new role in The Blacklist: Redemption .
Based on the final episode of The Blacklist Season 3, it is pretty clear that Red and Kirk had a shared past. Otherwise, why would they have a connection to the same woman, Katrina Rostova, or women if you include Masha Rostova’s alias, Elizabeth Keen?
Alexander Kirk claimed that his real name was Constantin Rostov. Now, if this is true, there is a clear link that shows he could be Liz’s (Masha’s) father, even if only by the book.
On the other hand, Reddington has always tried to hide his real connection to Elizabeth Keen. But every thread of evidence based on The Blacklist seems to suggest that he could be her father, especially given his history with Katarina Rostova. So, is Reddington the biological father of Elizabeth Keen (Masha Rostova)?
If indeed he is her biological father, then this could trigger one of the most intriguing themes of The Blacklist as the show gears up for Season 4 this fall. Eventually, the relationship between Reddington and Liz could be revealed at a time when she is already out of his reach. Can Reddington trust his closely knit team of mercenaries anymore? Kaplan will have questions to answer while Tom has never earned Red’s trust. So is it just Red and Dembe now?

In The Blacklist Season 4, war could be coming home, but the battles will be fought on many grounds.
