Kim Kardashian’s Engagement Ring Sold For $749,000
Kim Kardashian’s engagement ring from first husband Kris Humphries was sold for $749,000. Cha-ching!
A spokesperson for Chrisitie’s confirmed that the auction for the 16-carat ring had taken place and made almost three quarters of a million dollars earlier on Tuesday.
“It bounced between two phone bidders and two bidders in the back of the room,” the Christie’s spokesperson tells E! News. “Good participation all around. It was the last item in the morning session.”
The final price exceeded the presale estimates of between $300,000 and $500,000 for the $2 million ring.
A rep for Kris Humphries reports that the basketball star is “very pleased” with the results of the auction, which he plans to donate to charity.
According to the rep, Humphries hasn’t decided which charity he will give the proceeds from the sale, but it’s a top priority for the 28-year-old.
Last week, Humphries reps confirmed that he planned to auction off ex-wife Kim Kardashian’s engagement ring, as reported by The Inquisitr.
The ring is indeed Kris’ property that he received through his marriage dissolution. He has long-since moved on and is very much looking forward to a successful auction at Christie’s on Tuesday, and of course to returning to the court this upcoming NBA season as a Boston Celtic.
From all appearances, both Humphries and Kim Kardashian have moved on from their brief and controversial marriage, which only lasted for 72 days. Kim recently gave birth to Kanye West’s child (named North) and she seems very happy in her new marriage.
Kris Humphries is getting ready for the next basketball season after being traded to the Celtics.
“Kris is not losing money on the ring,” Humphries’ lawyer, Lee Hutton, commented with a laugh.
Kim Kardashian’s engagement ring from Kris Humphries is a Lorraine Schartz 16.2-karat emerald cut center stone flanked by 1.8-karat trapezoid side diamonds, which he presented to her during a TV special for her reality TV show Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
