Tina Fey And Amy Poehler Hosting The Golden Globes For Two More Years


Tina Fey and Amy Poehler are looking to top Ricky Gervais in hosting the Golden Globes again, and again. It’s been announced by The Hollywood Reporter that Fey and Poehler will be hosting the Golden Globes this year, and the year following that, making their hosting duties for the Golden Globes three consecutive years in a row.

The word was out in August that Tina Fey and Amy Poehler were approached to host this year. During the Emmys red carpet show, the two revealed that they were considering returning as hosts for The Golden Globes. Now the news it official that not only are Tina and Amy hosting this year, but next year too. Looks like everyone’s prayers have been answered.

Last year’s Golden Globes were a smash. Tina and Amy both brought their brand of witty humor to the ceremony, as they made jokes about Anne Hathaway to Lena Dunham. The latter which they were both hailed and panned for given the context.

By the time the two got around to making fun of newly minted series winner Lena Dunham, they were holding “drunk” and holding cocktails on stage. Lena, at 27, had just finished thanking the two, referring to the two ladies as idols that she watched when she was young. Fey shot back at the excited winner, “Congratulations Lena. We’re glad we got you through middle school.” As Poehler took a swig of her drink for emphasis.

The joke that a few people weren’t impressed with was the comment that came right after that from Tina Fey about unlucky in love Taylor Swift. Fey said, “You know what, Taylor Swift? Stay away from Michael J. Fox’s son.” Poehler then added, “Or go for it.”

Despite some jokes not hitting it with everyone Tina Fey and Amy Poehler still had a lot to be thankful for. Their hosting brought in a reported 19.7 million viewers, which was up 17 percent from the year prior.
