Kellan Lutz Promotes ‘Hercules: The Legend Begins’ At Comic-Con New York [Video]
Kellan Lutz attended Comic-Con New York this week where he promoted his upcoming film Hercules: The Legend Begins. The movies producers used the event to release the films first full-length trailer in which Lutz plays the popular demi-god. The movie is directed by Renny Harlin (Die Hard 2, Cliffhanger) and Harlin co-wrote the script.
Also in attendance for the big reveal of the full-length trailer were co-stars Gaia Weiss, Liam McIntyre and Scott Adkins.
Lutz, best known for his turn as Emmett Cullen in the Twilight Saga, is a fan favorite and his choice in action films will likely draw fans towards the CGI-heavy and 3D-friendly flick.
Hercules: The Legend Begins debuts in March 2014 and is produced by Nu Image and Millennium Films.
Kellan Lutz and his team are competing against the Paramount and MGM-produced Hercules: The Thracian Wars which stars Hollywood A-list actor Dwayne Johnson.
In Lutz’ film Hercules is exiled from his homeland and falls in love with his brother’s fiance, Hebe, Princess of Crete. Hebe is played by the Gai Weiss. Before he can return to Hebe the hero must fulfill his destiny as the son of Zeus.
In writing the script Harlin says he wanted to capture a young Hercules who was still coming to grips with the discovery that he is a demi-god.
Kellan Lutz is busy lately, along with the Hercules film he has joined the cast of Expendables 3 and he is voicing a character in the animated film Guardians of Luna. Both of those films also arrive in 2014.
Some actors have huge breakout roles that continue to earn them new jobs in the future. In the case of Kellan Lutz it looks like the Kevin Bacon approach is being used as he attempts to appear in a ton of movies back-to-back-to-back.
Since being uploaded to YouTube on October 12 the movies official HD trailer has received more than 211,000 views.
