Bill Murray Could Join Bradley Cooper In Cameron Crowe’s New Flick
Bill Murray is reportedly in talks to join Bradly Cooper in director Cameron Crowe’s upcoming romantic comedy. However, his involvement wasn’t confirmed as of this writing.
A source close to the production recently told The Wrap that Murray was in negotiations with producer Scott Rudin for a role in the flick. Rudin previously helped out with several Wes Anderson flicks, many of which featured the former Saturday Night Live cast member.
If Bill Murray works out a deal with Scott Rudin and Cameron Crowe, then he will join a host of talented actors and actresses. In addition to Bradley Cooper, the Hawaii-based flick stars Emma Stone, Rachel McAdams, Danny McBride, Alec Baldwin, Edi Gathegi, and Almost Famous alum Jay Baruchel.
The Huffington Post reports that production on the romantic comedy began towards the end of September. However, this isn’t stopping Crowe and company from actively pursuing Murray for a part. Unfortunately, who the gifted comedian will play in the movie is still an industry secret.
Here’s how The Wrap describes the plot:
“The romantic comedy stars Bradley Cooper as a defense contractor who’s assigned to oversee the launch of a weapons satellite from Hawaii, where he falls for an Air Force pilot (Emma Stone). With the help of mystical island forces, they team up to scuttle the launch.”
Bill Murray’s role in Cameron Crowe’s new movie isn’t the only cinematic treat fans of the actor have to look forward to these days. Not only is the Groundhog Day star appearing in director Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, he also has a significant role in George Clooney’s star-studded effort The Monuments Men.
Murray also stars in writer-director Theodore Melfi’s comedy St. Vincent De Van Nuys. The film tells the story of a boy who befriends his cranky war veteran neighbor. The comedy is expected to arrive in theaters at some point next year.
