Lea Michele ‘Moving On’ After Cory Monteith
Actress Lea Michele recently marked another milestone after the unexpected and tragic death of co-star and boyfriend Cory Monteith this summer — the well-received memorial episode of Glee in which the character of Finn dies.
Lea Michele was devastated by Monteith’s death in Calgary a few months back, and the pair — who first met on the set of Glee — were as close off-screen as their characters were in the context of the show.
Michele gave a moving, choked-up speech at a Nickelodeon awards show a few weeks after Cory died, but grief over the loss of the actor permeated the show as the emotional episode was filmed.
Creator Ryan Murphy said that the most recent episode of Glee was as moving as it was authentic, explaining:
“Almost everything in that episode is from the first take of every performance, because the actors and the crew had a really hard time shooting it… I’ve never seen a crew where you can’t continue shooting because they left the room sobbing.”
One source said that as Michele and her castmates process Monteith’s sudden death, the actress “tries to remember the good times” she spent with Cory before he died.
A spy said that Michele Lea wanted the Glee episode “to reflect the truth, to warn people what can happen.”
Another insider gossips that Lea was overheard at a recent party discussing another potential love interest, and was “excited he was coming.”
However, there is nothing to suggest the rumors of a Lea Michele rebound interest are anything other than scuttlebutt based on speculation — and others say the star still talks about Cory all the time.
She recently spoke of the tribute episode, and said Glee “had a beautiful memorial for Cory in the auditorium and some of the cast members sang and people spoke about him,” adding that it “only felt right that we would do the same thing for Finn, so I felt it was very therapeutic.”
The the rumors are correct, the actress herself doesn’t seem to reflect as much on Twitter — Michele tweeted yesterday:

After Monteith died, Lea Michele said she never considered leaving Glee, finding it no less sad than not being on the show in the wake of his death.
