Reese Witherspoon Covers Elle Magazine’s ‘Women Of Hollywood’ Issue

Reese Witherspoon wouldn’t be the same woman she is today without her children.

The actress, who appears on the cover of Elle Magazine this month, said that she was very confused before she had children.

Witherspoon said: “I feel like I was so confused before I had kids, I almost got in my own way.”

The NY Daily News reports that Witherspoon has three children. She had Ava, 14, and Deacon, 9 with her ex-husband Ryan Phillippe. She also has a baby boy with her current husband Jim Toth.

The actress said that she started to find her path once she had kids. Witherspoon, 37, told Elle that she started changing her habits so that she could be a good role model for her children.

Witherspoon said: “Having kids made me clearer about who I was as a woman. I just wanted to exhibit good qualities for my daughter. I was a little competitive before I had kids – probably really competitive, to be honest.”

The actress said that it started becoming really important to her to start producing movies with strong female characters so that her daughter would have something to watch when she grew up.

Witherspoon said: “I started noticing a couple years ago that I wasn’t seeing women as the stars of movies… I’m seeing them as the guys’ girlfriends or so-and-so’s wife. I just thought ‘God, if I don’t start buckling down and start producing some movies, what’s my daughter going to see in the movies?'”

Reese Witherspoon is on the cover of Elle this month for the magazine’s “Women In Hollywood” issue. The magazine has also created covers featuring Melissa McCarthy, Penelope Cruz, and Shailene Woodley.

The new issue will hit stores on October 22.
