Heather Locklear Joins Ex Richie Sambora At Daughter’s Sweet 16 Birthday Party
Heather Locklear and ex-husband Richie Sambora teamed up to give their daughter a Sweet 16 birthday party she’ll never forget. The former couple also posed for several pictures with their daughter, Ava, at the party.
Locklear and Sambora were married in 1994 and had Ava in 1997. However, their marriage wasn’t meant to be and their divorce was finalized in 2007.
Despite the poor ending of their marriage, Us Magazine reports that Locklear and Sambora were happy to pose for pictures together and appeared to have a great post-divorce relationship.
The Bon Jovi guitarist revealed in an interview last year that he and Heather are in “a great place” in their relationship. He added, “We’re very good. It’s actually even beyond for [our daughter’s] sake. Heather and I really respect each other, and we’ve become better friends, I think, now that we’re not married.”
The former couple’s good relationship showed through when they arrived at the Four Seasons Hotel in Los Angeles, where their daughter’s birthday party was held. The New York Daily News posted photos of the event, which included one of Heather Locklear waving at the camera while RIchie Sambora walked next to her, his right hand resting on her back.
However, their relationship hasn’t always been what it is now. Locklear blindsided Sambora by filing for divorce when the guitarist didn’t even know his marriage was failing. Her rep at the time confirmed the divorce in a statement, saying, “Heather Locklear has filed for divorce from Richie Sambora. This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.”
Sambora immediately denied they had any problems, but eventually gave in, and the divorce was finalized a couple months later. Both stars moved in, Sambora with his ex-wife’s former friend, Denise Richards, and Locklear with her Melrose Place co-star Jack Wagner.
