Harrison Ford Says He’s Down For The ‘Blade Runner’ Sequel
Harrison Ford recently revealed that he’s in talks for the proposed Blade Runner sequel.
Although reports previously suggested that the upcoming follow-up wouldn’t concern itself with the adventures of Rick Deckard, the Raiders of the Lost Ark star told IGN that he’s discussing the project with director Ridley Scott.
News regarding Harrison Ford and his involvement with the Blade Runner sequel is definitely good news for fans of the original flick. According to Worst Previews, producer Andrew Kosove said the new movie wouldn’t have anything to do with Deckard.
“This movie [will not] have anything to do with Harrison Ford. This is a total reinvention and in my mind that means doing everything fresh, including casting,” Kosove recently explained.
However, Harrison Ford insists that he’s recently had conversations with Ridley Scott about the sequel. Although this is far from a confirmation, it definitely contradicts what the producer was hoping to achieve with the next Blade Runner movie.
“We’ve been chatting about it. I truly admire Ridley as a man and as a director and I would be very happy to engage again with him in the further telling of this story,” the actor said.
One person who is definitely interested in helping out with the Blade Runner sequel is Katy Perry. The “Roar” singer recently told the folks at Metro that she hopes her turn in The Smurfs 2 will help her land the role of Rachel.
“With films, I hope to win you all over with animation and then do other films. I am really interested in comedy, and I would really love to play Rachael in Blade Runner 2, if [director] Ridley [Scott] would just call,” Perry told the publication.
The Inquisitr previously reported that Fantastic Four scribe Michael Green will tackle scripting duties on the follow-up. The writer previously helped out with director Martin Campell’s much-maligned Green Lantern movie.
