Keanu Reeves’ Directorial Debut ‘Man Of Tai Chi’ Gets A New Poster [Photo]
Keanu Reeves’ directorial debut Man of Tai Chi recently scored a brand new poster. You can check out the latest artwork for the flick below.
Although the movie is currently available on VOD, the folks at Radius-TWC are hoping you’ll still considering catching the flick in theaters next month. According to Crave Online, the movie should hit screens across North America on November 1.
Directed and starring Keanu Reeves, Man of Tai Chi tells the story of a skilled fighter who suddenly finds himself involved in a dark and deadly underground tournament. Instead of simply smacking people around for points, our hero soon has enough money to save his Tai Chi temple from destruction.
However, the tournament organizer (Reeves) has other plans for the fighter. As his skills grow, the promoter pits the guy against a series of incredibly tough brawlers. In stead of simply walking away the winner, our hero has to fight his opponents to the death.
During a chat with The Guardian earlier this year, Keanu Reeves said his love of kung fu movies began with Bruce Lee. His obsession with the genre grew after he teamed up with Man of Tai Chi star Tiger Chen and renowned fight choreographer Yuen Woo Ping for The Matrix.
“It’s like play. There’s something childlike about it. They are fake fights — and that’s fun,” the Speed star explained to the publication.
In addition to Man of Tai Chi, Keanu Reeves has another action flick currently headed to theaters in the US. Director Carl Rinsch’s action-fantasy flick 47 Ronin is presently scheduled to arrive on the big screen this Christmas.
