‘Desolation Of Smaug’ Has Two New TV Spots [Videos]
The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug’s TV spots are here, to add to the excitement of the new trailer and promotional images.
On Wednesday of last week, fans were finally able to see the second trailer with some incredible new footage, especially the one in which Smaug the Dragon speaks to Martin Freeman (The Hobbit).
Peter Jackson and Warner Bros. have done en excellent job of keeping the character, voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch a secret, and have teased at what it may actually look like in the previous trailer.
Each time a new clip comes out, there is more of Smaug as well as other characters which we didn’t see in the first installment of the trilogy, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, which opened in December of last year.
This time around in addition to the cast of characters we saw in the first film, Desolation Of Smaug TV spots introduces Luke Evans as Bard the Bowman, one of the few “humans” in a land full of wizards, dwarves, orcs, and trolls.
We also take a good peak at Lee Pace who plays Thranduil, Evangeline Lilly as Tauriel who appear for the first time in the series.
Orlando Bloom reprises his role from The Lord Of The Ring as Legolas, one of the fans favorite characters. Of course Ian McKellen is back as Gandalf and Richard Armitage as the dwarf leader Thorin Oakenshield.
The impressive ensemble is now getting ready to start the final push for the movie which opens in theaters in the US on December 13.
But for now, we have to do with two trailers and two clips, which are a combination of different scenes we have already seen. The only revelation is Smaug’s voice. Which is exciting in it of itself since it’s the very first time we hear it in Desolation Of Smaug TV spots and trailer. Take a look!
