PS4 Release Date: PlayStation 4 Bundle, Deals Same Price As Xbox One Launch
The PS4 release date is nearly here and people want to know how the PlayStation 4 bundle compares to the Xbox One release date bundles.
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, much has been of Xbox One, PlayStation 4 hardware comparisons, but what does that mean in real life?
I’d suggest reading the full article for the details but the short version of the PlayStation 4 GPU is significantly faster than the Xbox One GPU except in certain limited scenarios where the Xbone’s low latency embedded memory helps it out. What this means is that video game developers will likely need to reduce the special effects and native resolution of games ported to the Xbox One.
The majority of people agree the PS4 wins over the Xbox One but interestingly enough the impending PS4 release date isn’t enough to get people excited and buy either game console:
“26 percent of 1,297 people surveyed online last week say they are likely to purchase the new PlayStation 4 when available, versus 15 percent opting for the Xbox One. The rift widens among those below the age of 40. Of that group of 408 people, 41 percent picked Sony’s PS4 versus 27 percent for Microsoft’s Xbox One…. [But] 64 percent of total respondents said they would not buy any new game hardware at all this season.”
The most popular game people want to buy is the GTA 5 PS4 version, followed closely by Call of Duty: Ghosts, but a next gen Grand Theft Auto 5 port may be delayed until 2014.
The latest information on the PS4 release date says the PS4 bundle will cost $499 and include two controllers, the new Killzone game, and the PlayStation 4 Camera. But the PlayStation 4 Killzone bundle has only been confirmed for Europe. Amazon is also offering a PS4 bundle with Battlefield 4 but you can get a PS4 bundle without the camera for $399. $499 is the same price as the standard Xbox One release date bundle, which will always include the Kinect 2.0 as a standard feature, which means video game developers will support its features more.
The PS4 release date in the United States is November 15 and the Xbox One release is November 22. The international PS4 release date is barely in time for Christmas, with England and the EU and other nations getting the PlayStation 4 in December. The Xbox One release date, on the other hand, includes a wider launch internationally.
Does the PS4 release date or the Xbox One launch excite you more? What PlayStation 4 bundle do you want?
