Bigfoot Footage Backed Up By DNA Proof, Researchers Claim In Likely Hoax

The newest bigfoot footage may be “high def,” but it’s the DNA evidence that researchers perpetuating the most recent sasquatch claim insist proves the mythical beast’s existence.

Frankly, the new bigfoot footage is setting off all our BS alarms — let’s put aside for a minute that we’ve seen the exact same claim over. And over. And over. And over! Even since I’ve been writing with The Inquisitr, “solid proof” of Bigfoot has been claimed more than once, only to always be shot down like the not so elaborate hoax it is each time we hear it.

Now Dr. Melba Ketcham, a veterinarian, is heading up the new round of bigfoot footage claims, and first and foremost, our skepticism feelings are triggered by the fact that she purports to have gone in not believing in sasquatch stories. I don’t believe the underside of my couch is populated by a sophisticated yet tiny society of leprechauns, so I couldn’t possibly entertain the idea of sinking five years and $500,000 into proving their non-existence.

However, Ketcham also says in the ABC clip above that the bigfoot footage not only proves the legend-based creatures walk among us, but she also says they’re “human-like,” and specifically evade detection by man. So essentially, the researchers involved in this project aren’t merely claiming bigfoot exists, they’re also claiming a shadow society of creatures that have managed to keep themselves a secret from us on purpose, cognitively developed enough to agree on this level of conspiracy among themselves.

But Ketcham is resolute that the bigfoot footage is backed up by DNA evidence — and asserts:

“We soon discovered that certain hair samples — which we would later identify as purported Sasquatch samples — had unique morphology distinguishing them from typical human and animal samples… Those hair samples that could not be identified as known animal or human were subsequently screened using DNA testing, beginning with sequencing of mitochondrial DNA followed by sequencing nuclear DNA to determine where these individuals fit in the ‘tree of life.’ ”

While the bigfoot footage has not been proven to be a hoax just yet, our money is on the media’s leg being pulled yet again. But hey — we’ve been wrong before, and perhaps there is a secret civilization of more ape-like humans living among us in caves and forests, all of whom have been successfully evading humanity for centuries.
