Kate Upton Covers Sports Illustrated In An Atlanta Braves Jersey
When Kate Upton appears on the cover of Sports Illustrated she’s usually wearing a skimpy swimsuit. But not this time. The beautiful supermodel threw on an Atlanta Braves jersey and posed with brothers B.J. and Justin Upton for this week’s cover.
Why? What does Kate Upton have to do with the Atlanta Braves?
Oh, right. Her last name is Upton and that’s a good enough excuse to throw her on the cover.
But that isn’t the only question about Sports Illustrated’s new cover? What the heck is B.J. Upton doing on the cover? At least Kate Upton has some experience in the position.
B.J. Upton is making about $12 million this year, according to Yahoo Sports, and he’s currently swinging a.184 batting average. Add on 12 stolen bases, 151 strikeouts, and you’ve got a blurb on the 27th page.
But hey, they all have the name Upton.
SI writes: “The photo shoot took place last month at Citi Field when the Braves were in town to play the Mets. It marks the first time a swimsuit model has appeared on SI’s weekly cover. The three Uptons got along famously, joking throughout the shoot that they were being long-lost cousins.”
Well, congratulations Kate Upton for making the crossover from swimsuit cover model to weekly cover model. And congratulations to Justin Upton for having a strong season. And congratulations to B.J. Upton, for, well, having the same last name as a super model.
