Amanda Bynes Remains In Rehab Despite ‘Making Great Strides’
Amanda Bynes remains in rehab, but is making great strides according to her parents.
The 27-year-old parents Lynn and Rick James attended a conservatorship hearing at the Ventura Country Juvenile Courthouse in Oxnard, California on Monday. The legal proceeding is to determine the guardianship of her assets.
The family lawyer, Tamar Arminack, said in a prepared statement,
Earlier this month, in a separate Lanterman-Pertis-Short proceeding, Lynn Bynes was granted LPS Conservatorship of her daughter Amanda. It is for this reason, and in an effort not to duplicate conservator rights, that Mrs. Bynes decided to withdraw her Petition for Conservatorship of her daughter in the probate courts this morning. The Bynes Probate conservatorship proceeding has been continued in part to December 17, 2013, for final determination and dismissal.
As reported by The Inquisitr on Monday the troubled star had left UCLA Medical facility and transferred to the more private rehab center in Malibu.
Amanda Bynes reportedly is staying at The Canyon rehab center in the posh beach side community, but unlike UCLA, this facility does not have a psychiatric unit.
Although her parents confirmed the move on their statement, they did not mention where she was headed to.
Currently, upon recommendation by the skilled healthcare professionals at UCLA Medical Center, Amanda is receiving specialized treatment in a private facility outside of Los Angeles. Amanda is making great strides towards recovery. The entire Bynes family would like to ask that they be given some measure of privacy so they can focus on Amanda’s health and well-being. The Bynes family would also like to thank all of Amanda’s supporters and well-wishers for their thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
Amanda Bynes is still in rehab after she set up a fire on a stranger’s lawn in July and notoriously took to Twitter insulting several well known celebrities, some of which are friends of hers. Her lawyer says she is doing better.
