Demi Lovato Dishes Details For 2014 ‘Neon Lights’ Tour, Dates [Video]
Former Disney star Demi Lovato isn’t currently twerking, hostessing, or breaking up quietly with a real estate magnate — the Sonny With A Chance star is planning her next big tour.
In fact, we learned this week that Miss Demi Lovato (Demitria, if you’re nasty) will be hitting up several cities and arenas in one of her first big post-Mouse endeavors. And after a bout in rehab and a talk show circuit about her inner demons, it looks like Lovato is ready to rock.
Billboard has the goods on Demi Lovato’s tour dates and deets, including supporting acts and kick-off venue. According to the mag on the web, Demi is starting off in Canada, and the report indicates:
“The arena trek will begin on Feb. 9, 2014 in Vancouver, and run through the end of March. A pair of up-and-coming girl groups with ‘X Factor’ ties, Little Mix and Fifth Harmony, will serve as support; the latter came in third place on the U.S. version of the reality show last year, which was Lovato’s first year judging the competition. Cher Lloyd, who is currently touring with Fifth Harmony on the I Wish tour, completes the all-female lineup.”
While Lovato’s Disney fellow alums seem to be twerking it and working it in different and perhaps more controversial ways this week, Miss Demi says that her X Factor gig is what gave her the oomph to cross over so well — she told the mag not too long ago that it feels good to be popular with that group of kids… and their parents:
“When you have the opportunity to be in front of America every single week several times a week, that’s a very incredible opportunity, not only because your fans get to know you better, but… I was on the Disney Channel forever, and was waiting for that right job that would help me cross over to the mainstream world.”
Demi continued:
“I was not only in front of my fans every week, but I was also in front of adults. I never used to get recognized by adults, and now when I’m at the airport or the grocery store, the guy behind the register will be like, ‘I love you on X Factor!’ It’s really awesome to have expanded my fan base.”
Demi Lovato’s Neon Lights tour kicks off in Vancouver in early February.
