Demi Lovato never really went on tour after the release of her latest album, Demi. Now, to the delight of her fans, she has announced she is hitting the road in 2014 with her Neon Lights tour.
The former Disney star has been busy with her work as a judge in Simon Cowell’s The X Factor. Fortunately, it seems the pop singer will be able to get some time off to promote her album.
The Neon Lights tour is named after the latest single from Demi and it will kick off February 9, 2014 in Vancouver, Canada and run until the end of March, with the last show taking place in Indianapolis.
Joining Demi on her tour will be a couple of girl bands; Little Mix, and Fifth Harmony, which has an X Factor connection The band finished in third place in the US version of the show last year, the first season for Lovato as a judge on the reality TV competition show. Cher Lloyd will make it an all girl event.
Demi Lovato was asked if she thought it was more important for her career to appear in the popular show or promote her album on tour.
“When you have the opportunity to be in front of America every single week several times a week, that’s a very incredible opportunity, not only because your fans get to know you better, but… I was on the Disney Channel forever, and was waiting for that right job that would help me cross over to the mainstream world. I was not only in front of my fans every week, but I was also in front of adults. I never used to get recognized by adults, and now when I’m at the airport or the grocery store, the guy behind the register will be like, ‘I love you on “X Factor”!’ It’s really awesome to have expanded my fan base.”
Tickets for Demi Lovato’s Neon Lights tour go on sale October 5.
