Kristin Cavallari Says Baby Before Marriage ‘Worked For Us’
Kristin Cavallari said having a baby before getting married “worked” for her and new husband Jay Cutler.
The couple began dating in the fall of 2010 and first became engaged in April 2011. Cavallari called off the engagement in July. In November, Cavallari confirmed that she and Cutler were back together and engaged for a second time. Two months later, they announced Cavallari’s pregnancy, and the couple welcomed their first child, son Camden Jack, on August 8, 2012. Almost a year later, on June 7, 2013, Cavallari announced that she and Cutler were married.
The 26-year-old told The Bump she has no regrets about having a baby before marriage.
“That was just what worked for us. We got engaged really quickly — after only eight months,” she said. “We definitely weren’t ready to get married then and so we put everything on hold and we ended up having the baby before. I think that when we did get married, we were absolutely ready.”
Cavallari added, “Everything happens for a reason and it all works out how it’s supposed to.”
The Laguna Beach star also praised Cutler and said he is a great, hands-on father.
“We definitely agree on most things, which is great and helps a lot. He is an amazing dad and he has been since day one,” she said. “He helps me with everything. He’s not the kind of guy that doesn’t want to change a diaper or do any of that. He’s very hands-on and it’s adorable to watch your husband with your little boy. They’re so cute together.”
Kristin Cavallari also said that even though football season has started, Jay Cutler is only gone for one night a week, which she uses to do all her “girly stuff.” She also said that football season is exciting but that it can also be scary.
“Jay’s gotten hurt the last couple years so it’s definitely hard in some ways but overall it’s a lot of fun,” she said.
