Sandra Bullock’s Son Louis Helped Her Get Through ‘Gravity’

One of the unknown advantages to having children, even adopted, is that their need for you can get you through some of the difficult times. In Sandra Bullock’s case, Louis helped her get through Gravity, which proved a demanding film to be a part of. As a costar in a film featuring two people for the majority of it, that’s a pretty big demand. At least in Speed, she had more than just Keanu Reeves to fall back on; she had a whole bus load of actors, literally.

Of course so soon after Sandra Bullock‘s divorce from Jesse James, the Practical Magic star did the sensible thing, staying busy with a demanding film project. However, the film business is not the end-all for the 49-year-old actress. She recently told Vogue that if the movies got in the way of being with her adopted son Louis, she would move to Alaska to be a better mom.

Now that’s dedication.

Sandra Bullock’s adopted son Louis was the one thing that kept her sane during all of those hours in the box filming Gravity, knowing that when she was done for the day, he would be waiting at home or in a specially created “Disneyland” made just for him. Just knowing he was happy was enough to get her by.

Sandra Bullock stated about the support on the set of the film, especially the sound person:

“If I was cracking under the pressure he would radio someone to go get Louis to come in and bring Louis in. But I couldn’t get out to hold him, which was so frustrating. It was like a little bit of torture. But you know what? Everyone was so supportive and sweet that you just knew that as miserable as you were there were about 50 people standing in the dark going, ‘What can we do?’ And just seeing them … it was one of the kindest group of people that I’d ever been around. And I just, you know, I felt very lucky.”

As far as actually going into space, Sandra Bullock is very much not interested, and says she’s quite fine just being here, unless someone were to offer about a billion dollars. In the meantime, Sandra Bullock’s son Louis has been the one thing that got her through the filming of Gravity.
