Sunday is National Coffee Day and it’s only fitting coffee lovers everywhere celebrate with a cup of sweet, sweet java.
Coffee is known for many things, including waking millions of people up, helping others relax, keeping you alive longer, and preventing depression .
But, really, when it comes down to it, coffee lovers just like the taste of java, whether they add creamer, sugar, or even whiskey, to it. While we at The Inquisitr sit back and enjoy a good cup, we figured you would like a few suggestions for how to celebrate this glorious day.
Get Free Coffee
Who doesn’t love free stuff? Several coffee shops are offering free stuff on Sunday. Starbucks, Krispy Kreme, Dunkin’ Donuts, and Peet’s Coffee & Tea are all offering something for customers who stop in on Sunday.
Starbucks will give customers a free sample of its new medium-blend Ethiopia coffee, while Krispy Kreme is offering free 12 oz. cups of coffee. Dunkin’ Donuts will give coffee lovers a free 10 oz hot coffee or a 16 oz iced coffee if they download the mobile app.
Brew A Classic Cup
A fantastic way to celebrate National Coffee Day is brewing a cup of your favorite roast at home. Let’s face it, it’s Sunday. Your favorite NFL team is probably playing today and you’re probably too lazy to go somewhere. So, why not experiment with something new at home?
Try The “Poor Man’s Mocha”
Tired of black coffee? Need to add a bit of flavor to it? Got to your pantry and pick out that hot chocolate you’ve been saving for fall. Rip open the packet, dump it in your coffee, and stir. Instant mocha with no need for an espresso machine.
Try Cold Brew Coffee
Need a new way to celebrate National Coffee Day with iced coffee? How about trying cold brew coffee. The Seattle Post Intelligencer has a great article about making this new brew . Chances are you will need to go to the store for a couple of items, but it’s still a great way to enjoy caffeine in a new way.
Try A New Roast
You’re never too old to try something new, and what better day than National Coffee Day to try a new roast. If you’re a Folgers kind of person, try buying Maxwell House. If you prefer Starbucks, maybe try Seattle’s Best Coffee. Dark roast lovers may want to try a blonde roast instead.
