‘Batman vs. Superman’ Scribe David S. Goyer Isn’t Listening To Fans
Fans have plenty of opinions about how Batman vs. Superman should unfold. However, writer David S. Goyer doesn’t plan to listen to any of their suggestions.
According to the Death Warrant writer, progress on Man of Steel 2 is farther along than some people might think. When it comes to penning the script for the highly-anticipated follow-up, Goyer insists he isn’t letting fans steer the proverbial boat.
The Man of Steel 2 scribe told Yahoo! News:
“At the end of the day you still have to create something. And if you try and think, ‘Well, what would the fans like,’ then you stop being creative. Where does it end? You have to write the story that you want to write, and hope that people want to see it.”
In addition to dropping some juicy hints about the progress he’s making on the Batman vs. Superman script, Goyer dished on whether the Caped Crusader could take the Man of Steel in a fight. According to Goyer, Bruce Wayne might have some serious trouble defeating Clark Kent.
“Most comic book purists would say Batman [would win] because he is the ultimate strategist. Even though it makes no sense whatsoever. If Superman just flicked his finger Batman would be done for,” the writer explained to the website.
Once Warner Bros. announced the sequel to their box office hit, fans simply cannot stop talking about Batman vs. Superman. The backlash against star Ben Affleck was so fierce that the actor recently addressed the situation during an appearance on Jimmy Fallon.
The actor explained:
“I thought ‘I’m a big boy. I can handle any snub. I can handle anything.’ They said don’t use the internet for a few days, but I handle my shit. So I went to the announcement and looked at the first comment and it says “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”. And I was done!”
