Amanda Bynes Court Appearance Delayed Due To Treatment

Amanda Bynes’ court appearance has been delayed after her lawyer states she is still being treated for her insanity.

After Amanda Bynes’ Twitter shenanigans earlier this year spawned a swell of jokes and pity almost equally, the trouble child star was arrested and diagnosed with schizophrenia. Since then, Amanda Bynes has been getting treatment, even including her parents attempting to gain custody and look after her as previously reported by The Inquisitr.

For now, Amanda Bynes is skipping her appearance in court because her lawyer claims she is still undergoing treatment in a California hospital and will need possibly 18 months to complete it before she can be deemed sane enough to appear in defense for her crimes.

The crimes in question include possession of marijuana, as blatantly shown when she threw a bong out of the window of 36th floor apartment in May, and attempted arson, a case only made sad when the child star poured gasoline all over her dog after being caught burning her clothes in a parking lot. The latest of the charges include a DUI, where she had been drunk when she sideswiped a police car.

Amanda Bynes’ court appearance delay will be until December 5, though her lawyer claims he doesn’t know when her treatment will be finished. This was in response to the question posed by Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Diana Boyar, who demanded to know when Amanda Bynes would be ready to face the charges. The bench warrant has been stayed due to her lawyer’s explanation.

The December 5 court date is still a projection and uncertain, as it is unknown when the California hospital will release her.

In the meantime, Amanda Bynes is still sporting a odd-colored wig in public, no doubt her choice after her outlandish behavior earlier this year.
