Michelle Beadle: ‘The Crossover’ Is Dunzo
The NBC Sports Network has canceled The Crossover. The show was hosted by Michelle Beadle and only lasted seven months.
Beadle made the announcement on Twitter today, writing that Crossover was “Dunzo.”
Beadle writes: “Crossover is donzo. Thanks 2 the crew who tried their damnedest. I’ll let ya know what’s next.”
Crossover debuted during Super Bowl week last January but it was never able to build an audience. The show also lost its co-host a few months after its debut.
Still, NBC Sports said today that the reason The Crossover was cancelled had nothing to do with the fact that the show just didn’t work. Instead, the network said that it wanted to create a “vertical programming block” with the NHL season fast approaching.
NBC Sports said: “With the NHL returning, we decided to focus on our core sports and have created vertical programming blocks in that time period to do that. We look forward to Michelle Beadle and the production team continuing their work on other NBC Sports Group properties.”
Crossover may be dunzo but Michelle Beadle will still be working with NBC. She’s a correspondent for Access Hollywood and will also help with the Olympic coverage. She also might have another show in the works for the network.
