Bill Nye Injures Knee During ‘Dancing With The Stars’ Performance
Bill Nye suffered a serious injury during his recent performance on Dancing with the Stars.
Although details about the problem are sketchy at the moment, reports suggest that the injury is bad enough to warrant surgery. According to a statement released by DWTS, Nye is seeking some professional help for the problem.
“We can confirm Bill Nye was injured during his performance last night and is currently seeking medical attention. We will continue to keep you posted on his progress,” ABC said in statement.
The Associated Press reports that Bill Nye hurt his knee while performing with his partner. It’s currently unclear if he will return for another round on Dancing with the Stars.
Nye isn’t the only celebrity to suffer an injury during the network’s popular dancing competition. Misty May-Treanor and Melissa Gilbert were hurt during their respective stints on the program as well.
Although Bill Nye hasn’t received the strongest scores on Dancing with the Stars, it’s clear that the Science Guy is a fan favorite. His first performance went viral shortly after the video found its way to YouTube. The clip quickly generated over three million views.
“I mean it’s the cha cha with a guy in a lab coat. That was a great surprise. What it says to me that is we are the lowest judges scores by a fantastic factor, but what’s keeping us in it is the show, so we are going to keep bringing the show!” Nye recently said about the clip’s popularity.
If the budding dancer and his partner Tyne Stecklein return for the next episode, then they will perform the Jive. It’s currently unknown if Nye will return as of this writing.
