Kordell Stewart ‘Ashamed’ Of Porsha Stewart For Fueling Gay Rumors
Kordell Stewart said he is “ashamed” of his estranged wife Porsha Stewart for implying that he’s gay.
In a recent promo for The Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha Stewart, nee Williams, said the retired NFL player didn’t want her physically.
“That made me wonder, what does he want,” she said.
While the former model doesn’t explicitly say that her soon-to-be ex-husband is gay, Kordell Stewart saw the clip and issued a statement about his sexuality.
“I’m very ashamed of my wife for saying something that she knows is not true at all,” he said. “The rumors have never been true. I’m not gay.”
The 40-year-old added, “It is sad that she would target the homosexual community which often times lacks support to begin with.”
Stewart also said he expected more from the 31-year-old reality star.
“It is very disappointing that she will do anything and say anything for a minute of so-called fame,” he said. “She can have that life, I just want to continue to be the best single dad and father that I can for my son.”
Porsha Stewart previously defended the former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback after rumors surfaced that he was caught having sex with another man.
“One thing I do know is that my husband loves me and he puts it down and I will be with him forever,” she said in a December interview on Power 105.1. “And you know what? He’s more man to me than I have ever met. So for me gay is just out of the window.”
As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Kordell Stewart filed for divorce in March, and Porsha Stewart said she learned about the divorce after seeing a report online. She sued for alimony in April, but Stewart said she is an “able-bodied person, earning income and is capable of supporting herself.” He also said they didn’t sign a prenup.
Kordell Stewart also changed the locks to the couple’s Atlanta home and said that he told his estranged wife when she would be able to get her belongings. In June, an Atlanta Superior Court judge ordered him to pay $5,000 in spousal support for three months. He also ordered him to return Porsha Stewart’s property or cover the cost of having her belongings placed in a storage unit.
